Why try our plant-based food plan?

You’re probably familiar with the term “plant-based”. Seems like it’s everywhere lately. And you know that eating more fruits and vegetables and whole grains is good for you. You’ve been told that your whole life, right? So if you’re thinking about trying a plant-based food plan, you may be wondering, “what makes this plan special and why should I give it a try?”

This plan is so delicious!

After 30 years of eating exclusively plant based, raising our two daughters on this style of eating and also making sure my husband (a self-described food-aholic) feels full and satisfied, I was able to build a meal plan that is delicious and filling, tried and tested. There are lots of fresh fruits and veggies and other whole foods included in a diverse set of recipes, so that everyone will be able to find new favorites that they love and ask for again.

This plan is super nutritious!

If you’ve ever experienced any serious illness, you probably researched ways to help your issue – and if you found any guidelines about food, likely you saw something that said, “eat more plant based whole foods,” and/or “minimize or eliminate foods that contain meat or dairy.” Further, if you’ve read any independent medical studies on how best to prevent or even reverse chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer and diabetes, or how best to live a long and healthy life, you know that the science is clear that a whole food plant-based diet is the best defense against chronic disease and the most optimal for health and longevity.

This plan is affordable!

Of course, you’ve probably also heard the rumors that eating a plant-based diet is an expensive way to eat. And despite its superior nutrition, maybe you haven’t wanted to try it because you assume it’s a way of eating that you /your family cannot afford. Well our mission is to bust that myth and prove to you that if you want to ensure optimal nutrition for you and your family, the plant based diet is also the most affordable way to eat too.

I’ve organized the menu plan for each week to get the most out of your weekly grocery bill. All ingredients are sourced at Walmart, so you only have to shop at one place to get all your groceries each week. And of course the food plan takes advantage of Walmart’s “Everyday Low Prices” pricing strategy, so you’ll be getting quality foods at consistently low prices. In fact, a family of four on food assistance can afford the full four-week plan ongoing.

And just so there’s no confusion, I’m not a paid influencer for Walmart. I‘m doing this project because I want to help promote the transformative health benefits of a plant-based diet. And to help eliminate barriers (real and imagined) for people like me who want to provide optimal nutrition for themselves and their families.

So I hope you’ll try my food plan. You don’t have to commit to the whole thing all at once. You can just click here to get started with Week 1 and see how it goes. And if you have any questions along the way, please feel free to email me at tamara@plantbasedliving.org. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Best of luck!
